Aircraft #1 was descended to avoid head-on traffic. Aircraft #2 was with another center at FL230. Aircraft #1 was level at FL220 and handed off to another sector. Aircraft #2 was then descended and separation was lost. D-side was used for coordination. There was a misunderstanding in coordination between ZID and d-side.

Narrative: ACFT #1 WAS DSNDED TO AVOID HEAD-ON TFC. ACFT #2 WAS WITH ANOTHER CTR AT FL230. ACFT #1 WAS LEVEL AT FL220 AND HANDED OFF TO ANOTHER SECTOR. ACFT #2 WAS THEN DSNDED AND SEPARATION WAS LOST. D-SIDE WAS USED FOR COORD. THERE WAS A MISUNDERSTANDING IN COORD BTWN ZID AND D-SIDE.
