Narrative:
We were on a training flight practicing lndgs at the airport. The skylane took off after us and announced his crosswind on the CTAF as we were turning crosswind. I then saw the skylane which was off our right wing and slightly low; less than 1000 ft away; and climbing through our altitude. We paralleled the skylane's path and had to adjust our crosswind leg to ensure that we avoided a collision.
