Narrative:
First indication of an impending problem was the #1 generator fell off the bus (generator bus off light) and the #1 engine rolled back and flamed out. We then noted the 'fuel valve closed' light on for the left side. Ran aborted engine start checklist. Returned to gate. Talked to a pilot who flew the aircraft after repair. He said they found 2 broken wires on the valve and repaired them.
