Narrative:

During descent we got stabilizer trim and mach trim caution messages. The QRH was run -- we were unable to get stabilizer trim to engage despite trying multiple times. An emergency was declared with ZZZ approach. We were vectored for ILS. The aircraft was configured per the QRH and we flew the ILS to an uneventful landing. The emergency was canceled once safely on the ground and an announcement was made at that time to explain that the trucks were precautionary in nature. We taxied in and maintenance came out to the aircraft.
