Narrative:

There is a small 'island' (approximately 15 X 10 ft) of unmarked electrical equipment located in the middle of taxiway F at ome. This constitutes a significant hazard to taxiing aircraft and should be corrected as soon as possible. The unmarked 'island' of electrical equipment is not visible to many aircraft and prevented taxiing aircraft from seeing the obstructions. The aircraft taxied into one of 3 large electrical outlet boxes mounted on wood post on the 'island.' the live electrical box was destroyed along with the electric meter mounted on the box and the wood post it was mounted on. The destroyed box left live electric cables exposed which created a very dangerous condition for the pilot of the aircraft. The aircraft propeller was damaged to the point of requiring a replacement propeller be installed. Damage to the aircraft engine; if any; is yet to be determined. This was an expensive and dangerous incident that could have been prevented had the 'island' of electrical equipment not been located within the boundary of a taxiway or had it been marked so that it was visible to taxiing aircraft. Recommend the electrical equipment be either removed or properly marked with non-frangible markers to prevent reoccurrence of this dangerous situation.

Title: SMA PLT RPTS AN UNMARKED AREA OF ELECTRICAL EQUIP IS LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF TXWY F AT OME.

Narrative: THERE IS A SMALL 'ISLAND' (APPROX 15 X 10 FT) OF UNMARKED ELECTRICAL EQUIP LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF TXWY F AT OME. THIS CONSTITUTES A SIGNIFICANT HAZARD TO TAXIING ACFT AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE UNMARKED 'ISLAND' OF ELECTRICAL EQUIP IS NOT VISIBLE TO MANY ACFT AND PREVENTED TAXIING ACFT FROM SEEING THE OBSTRUCTIONS. THE ACFT TAXIED INTO ONE OF 3 LARGE ELECTRICAL OUTLET BOXES MOUNTED ON WOOD POST ON THE 'ISLAND.' THE LIVE ELECTRICAL BOX WAS DESTROYED ALONG WITH THE ELECTRIC METER MOUNTED ON THE BOX AND THE WOOD POST IT WAS MOUNTED ON. THE DESTROYED BOX LEFT LIVE ELECTRIC CABLES EXPOSED WHICH CREATED A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION FOR THE PLT OF THE ACFT. THE ACFT PROP WAS DAMAGED TO THE POINT OF REQUIRING A REPLACEMENT PROP BE INSTALLED. DAMAGE TO THE ACFT ENG; IF ANY; IS YET TO BE DETERMINED. THIS WAS AN EXPENSIVE AND DANGEROUS INCIDENT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED HAD THE 'ISLAND' OF ELECTRICAL EQUIP NOT BEEN LOCATED WITHIN THE BOUNDARY OF A TXWY OR HAD IT BEEN MARKED SO THAT IT WAS VISIBLE TO TAXIING ACFT. RECOMMEND THE ELECTRICAL EQUIP BE EITHER REMOVED OR PROPERLY MARKED WITH NON-FRANGIBLE MARKERS TO PREVENT REOCCURRENCE OF THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION.
