Narrative:

Immediately after departure from ZZZ; we smelled smoke in the cockpit. Within approximately 1 min the lavatory smoke warning went off on the EICAS and in the rear of the aircraft. We proceeded to do and complete all appropriate emergency and normal checklists. Declared an emergency and returned for immediate landing at ZZZ. Crash fire rescue equipment examined the aircraft upon landing; we taxied to the gate. The passenger were offloaded at the gate and crash fire rescue equipment inspected the aircraft with thermal imager. Nothing found on thermal imager.

Title: EMB145 FLT CREW SMELLS SMOKE IN COCKPIT; FOLLOWED BY LAVATORY SMOKE EICAS. EMER WAS DECLARED AND A SUCCESSFUL RETURN TO DEP ARPT WAS COMPLETED.

Narrative: IMMEDIATELY AFTER DEP FROM ZZZ; WE SMELLED SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT. WITHIN APPROX 1 MIN THE LAVATORY SMOKE WARNING WENT OFF ON THE EICAS AND IN THE REAR OF THE ACFT. WE PROCEEDED TO DO AND COMPLETE ALL APPROPRIATE EMER AND NORMAL CHKLISTS. DECLARED AN EMER AND RETURNED FOR IMMEDIATE LNDG AT ZZZ. CFR EXAMINED THE ACFT UPON LNDG; WE TAXIED TO THE GATE. THE PAX WERE OFFLOADED AT THE GATE AND CFR INSPECTED THE ACFT WITH THERMAL IMAGER. NOTHING FOUND ON THERMAL IMAGER.
