Narrative:

During a service check of aircraft X; while performing maintenance on #2 engine; I opened oil servicing door to service oil (if needed). This was just prior to break. Upon returning from break; I lowered forward lower cowl; forgetting oil door was already opened. The oil service door promptly broke; and I spent the next several hours dealing with getting that fixed. It was at this time the oil servicing cap was inadvertently left off.
