Narrative:

Flying the grabe 2 departure from runway 17R with autoplt engaged; navigation track showing on FMA; and at 230 KTS; this aircraft had difficulty making the turns at navye and corts intxns. Speed was 230 KTS with a southwest wind. Wind at navye was approximately 12 KTS and at corts 38 KTS. At both turns; aircraft flew the course with a right deviation to limits.

Title: MD80 FLT CREW RPTS NEAR FAILURE OF AUTOFLT SYS TO TRACK THE PROGRAMMED RTE OF THE GRABE RNAV SID FROM DFW.

Narrative: FLYING THE GRABE 2 DEP FROM RWY 17R WITH AUTOPLT ENGAGED; NAV TRACK SHOWING ON FMA; AND AT 230 KTS; THIS ACFT HAD DIFFICULTY MAKING THE TURNS AT NAVYE AND CORTS INTXNS. SPD WAS 230 KTS WITH A SW WIND. WIND AT NAVYE WAS APPROX 12 KTS AND AT CORTS 38 KTS. AT BOTH TURNS; ACFT FLEW THE COURSE WITH A R DEV TO LIMITS.
