Narrative:

On soldo 2 RNAV departure; aircraft began turn from mechl to mavvs before reaching mechl. Because mechl is not a compulsory flyover point; aircraft will lead turn this point to stay in the depicted track. Controller was alarmed because aircraft did not overfly mechl but during subsequent conversation with controller; was advised that departure expects aircraft to overfly mechl on soldo 2. Suggest that mechl be changed to a compulsory flyover point if indeed departure expects overflt of this point. Controller also advised there was no danger of aircraft separation in this incident.

Title: A300 ON SOLDO RNAV SID FROM DFW TURNS INSIDE MECHL.

Narrative: ON SOLDO 2 RNAV DEP; ACFT BEGAN TURN FROM MECHL TO MAVVS BEFORE REACHING MECHL. BECAUSE MECHL IS NOT A COMPULSORY FLYOVER POINT; ACFT WILL LEAD TURN THIS POINT TO STAY IN THE DEPICTED TRACK. CTLR WAS ALARMED BECAUSE ACFT DID NOT OVERFLY MECHL BUT DURING SUBSEQUENT CONVERSATION WITH CTLR; WAS ADVISED THAT DEP EXPECTS ACFT TO OVERFLY MECHL ON SOLDO 2. SUGGEST THAT MECHL BE CHANGED TO A COMPULSORY FLYOVER POINT IF INDEED DEP EXPECTS OVERFLT OF THIS POINT. CTLR ALSO ADVISED THERE WAS NO DANGER OF ACFT SEPARATION IN THIS INCIDENT.
