Narrative:
Under guidance from technical services issued time deferral maintenance item on aircraft per gpm 16-02. Should have requested engineering order to cover sealant and nycote. Mod noticed incorrect reference and instructed to correct reference and ground aircraft for issuance of engineering order or application of sealant and nycote. Applied sealant and nycote while engineering order was requested and cleared time deferral maintenance item. Suggestions: a general engineering order covering specific bonding straps deferral of sealant and/or nycote. Current engineering orders are aircraft specific only.
