Narrative:

Started out as a normal pushback/start. During pushback from the gate; tug driver pushed the aircraft's left winglet into the parking garage/wall behind the gate. At brake release I remember seeing a wing walker out of the corner of my eye on the left side of the airplane in front of the left wing. From that point on and when clear of the jetway; both me and the first officer had our heads in the cockpit monitoring the engine instruments during start while still being under the control of the pushback tug. For whatever reason; the tug driver did not see either the wall or the wing walker and pushed the aircraft's left wing/winglet into the wall behind us. I had not disconnected from the tug and was still being pushed back.
