Narrative:

I was asked to tow an MD80 from maintenance hangar to gate that morning. At the gate aircraft was towed up from hangar. The aircraft was still hooked up to the tow tug and I was still seated in the driver's seat and just finished the tow and had just finished calling ground to say completed the repos of the aircraft from hangar to gate. Aircraft brakes were set and tow tug parking brake was set. Then off the left wing of the aircraft; line maintenance deice truck and crew in the truck had back-in to the left wing and leading edge #5 slat and left wingtip.

Title: AN MD80 JUST TOWED ON TO A GATE WITH BRAKES PARKED AND TUG STILL ATTACHED WITH TOW BAR. ACFT L WING WAS STRUCK BY A BACKING DEICER TRUCK INCURRING DAMAGE TO THE L WING; #5 SLAT AND WINGTIP.

Narrative: I WAS ASKED TO TOW AN MD80 FROM MAINT HANGAR TO GATE THAT MORNING. AT THE GATE ACFT WAS TOWED UP FROM HANGAR. THE ACFT WAS STILL HOOKED UP TO THE TOW TUG AND I WAS STILL SEATED IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT AND JUST FINISHED THE TOW AND HAD JUST FINISHED CALLING GND TO SAY COMPLETED THE REPOS OF THE ACFT FROM HANGAR TO GATE. ACFT BRAKES WERE SET AND TOW TUG PARKING BRAKE WAS SET. THEN OFF THE L WING OF THE ACFT; LINE MAINT DEICE TRUCK AND CREW IN THE TRUCK HAD BACK-IN TO THE L WING AND LEADING EDGE #5 SLAT AND L WINGTIP.
