Narrative:

Near miss; den runway 17R. Cleared into position and hold then cleared for takeoff with advisory; 'traffic on final for runway 25.' as we neared V/right we saw an airbus at our 10 O'clock position at approximately 200 ft AGL. We immediately delayed our rotation to prevent a collision and the airbus passed directly overhead at approximately 100 ft (looked that close; probably was 100 ft higher). We rotated at approximately 30 KTS passed V2 when clear of the traffic. The first officer stated; 'had we rotated we would have t-boned him.' so and I concurred. We queried the tower -- first officer thinks the reply was; 'I advised you of the traffic;' I heard; 'traffic had you in sight.'
