Narrative:

Told to hold at mgw. We asked for 20 mi legs and they were approved; no mention of holding turns mentioned. We entered holding with a r-hand turn (standard) and controller said he thought we would turn left. We were using an electronic flight bag and the en route chart had no holding pattern depicted; neither did the arrival we were on. No known conflict; just thought you would like to know. Supplemental information from acn 677974: we were given holding over mgw; start of the jasen 4 arrival into iad; told to hold as published. We didn't show any hold on the STAR (over mgw) so we did a standard turn. He said it should have been a left turn as published on a high chart. Our electronic flight bag has no published hold over mgw. We then were turned and reclred to mgw.
