Narrative:

We were cleared by tower to back-taxi down runway 32 for a runway 35 departure. As we back-taxied down runway 32 the captain and I both looked at our 10-9 page and agreed that runway 35 was beyond the end of runway 32. Just before crossing the end of runway 32; I pointed out some hold short lines painted on runway 32. The captain said we would hold short of runway 35 on the taxiway. About the same time as we crossed the hold short lines painted on runway 32; the tower cleared us for takeoff on runway 35. After takeoff; we discussed how confusing it was to see hold short lines painted on the end of a runway and then we noted the low visibility 10-9D and 10-9E pages depicted the hold short line on the runway. In my opinion; the 10-9 page should depict these hold short lines and a runway sign and stop bar and runway guard lights should be added. Maybe the hold short lines position should be re-evaluated because it looks to the both of us that we had plenty of room to hold on taxiway J or taxiway M.

Title: AN MD80 CREW NOTES THAT THE SLC 10-9 DOES NOT INCLUDE THE SAME HOLD SHORT LINES ON RWY 14 FOR RWY 35; AND RWY 17 FOR RWY 32 AS THE 10-9D-E CHARTS.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED BY TWR TO BACK-TAXI DOWN RWY 32 FOR A RWY 35 DEP. AS WE BACK-TAXIED DOWN RWY 32 THE CAPT AND I BOTH LOOKED AT OUR 10-9 PAGE AND AGREED THAT RWY 35 WAS BEYOND THE END OF RWY 32. JUST BEFORE XING THE END OF RWY 32; I POINTED OUT SOME HOLD SHORT LINES PAINTED ON RWY 32. THE CAPT SAID WE WOULD HOLD SHORT OF RWY 35 ON THE TXWY. ABOUT THE SAME TIME AS WE CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINES PAINTED ON RWY 32; THE TWR CLRED US FOR TKOF ON RWY 35. AFTER TKOF; WE DISCUSSED HOW CONFUSING IT WAS TO SEE HOLD SHORT LINES PAINTED ON THE END OF A RWY AND THEN WE NOTED THE LOW VISIBILITY 10-9D AND 10-9E PAGES DEPICTED THE HOLD SHORT LINE ON THE RWY. IN MY OPINION; THE 10-9 PAGE SHOULD DEPICT THESE HOLD SHORT LINES AND A RWY SIGN AND STOP BAR AND RWY GUARD LIGHTS SHOULD BE ADDED. MAYBE THE HOLD SHORT LINES POS SHOULD BE RE-EVALUATED BECAUSE IT LOOKS TO THE BOTH OF US THAT WE HAD PLENTY OF ROOM TO HOLD ON TXWY J OR TXWY M.
