Narrative:

Flew a visual approach to runway 22L in day; VMC conditions. The aircraft had an MEL for an inoperative anti-skid system. Shortly after touchdown; the tower reported seeing some smoke near the landing gear. As we continued to slow the aircraft; we began to feel the effects of a blown tire. Tower reported that the smoke quickly dissipated and we taxied the aircraft clear of runway 22L onto taxiway S3. We notified tower that we were going to hold our position and requested ground support to help determine the condition of our left main gear. The airport operations and fire trucks arrived quickly and reported that our left outboard main tire had blown. We coordination further support to deplane our passenger and get our maintenance people to replace the defective tire. After changing both main tires; we taxied to the gate. Tower had requested that upon landing; we exit at the first high speed taxiway to help accommodate departures. Perhaps with a slightly degraded ability to slow down due to the antiskid MEL; we should have declined that request and planned to exit further down the runway.

Title: DISPATCHED WITH THE ANTISKID INOP; B737 TRIES TO MAKE EARLY EXIT ON LNDG AT REQUEST OF ATC AND BLOWS 1 MAIN GEAR TIRE.

Narrative: FLEW A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 22L IN DAY; VMC CONDITIONS. THE ACFT HAD AN MEL FOR AN INOP ANTI-SKID SYS. SHORTLY AFTER TOUCHDOWN; THE TWR RPTED SEEING SOME SMOKE NEAR THE LNDG GEAR. AS WE CONTINUED TO SLOW THE ACFT; WE BEGAN TO FEEL THE EFFECTS OF A BLOWN TIRE. TWR RPTED THAT THE SMOKE QUICKLY DISSIPATED AND WE TAXIED THE ACFT CLR OF RWY 22L ONTO TXWY S3. WE NOTIFIED TWR THAT WE WERE GOING TO HOLD OUR POS AND REQUESTED GND SUPPORT TO HELP DETERMINE THE CONDITION OF OUR L MAIN GEAR. THE ARPT OPS AND FIRE TRUCKS ARRIVED QUICKLY AND RPTED THAT OUR L OUTBOARD MAIN TIRE HAD BLOWN. WE COORD FURTHER SUPPORT TO DEPLANE OUR PAX AND GET OUR MAINT PEOPLE TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE TIRE. AFTER CHANGING BOTH MAIN TIRES; WE TAXIED TO THE GATE. TWR HAD REQUESTED THAT UPON LNDG; WE EXIT AT THE FIRST HIGH SPD TXWY TO HELP ACCOMMODATE DEPS. PERHAPS WITH A SLIGHTLY DEGRADED ABILITY TO SLOW DOWN DUE TO THE ANTISKID MEL; WE SHOULD HAVE DECLINED THAT REQUEST AND PLANNED TO EXIT FURTHER DOWN THE RWY.
