Narrative:

On taxi out we received a runway change from runway 18L to runway 17R. First officer changed runway on route 1 page and captain selected runway 17R and ferra for the departure then we checked waypoints to ferra. On climb out first officer noticed a discontinuity between ferra and ALS. For some reason the CDU dropped scabi and pnh out of the legs page. First officer checked the flight plan and plugged pnh in between ferra and ALS and executed. The captain was not aware of this. After passing ferra the aircraft continued direct to pnh instead of the cleared route to scabi then pnh. While first officer was in the bathroom center called and asked if we were on a heading. I answered that we were direct to pnh as I thought this was the correct routing. Center gave us a heading then direct to scabi to pnh as filed. Miscom and failure to check routing after ferra contributed to this error.

Title: B777 LOSES RNAV SID TRANSITION WAYPOINTS WHEN THE RWY IS CHANGED PRIOR TO TKOF.

Narrative: ON TAXI OUT WE RECEIVED A RWY CHANGE FROM RWY 18L TO RWY 17R. FO CHANGED RWY ON RTE 1 PAGE AND CAPT SELECTED RWY 17R AND FERRA FOR THE DEP THEN WE CHKED WAYPOINTS TO FERRA. ON CLBOUT FO NOTICED A DISCONTINUITY BETWEEN FERRA AND ALS. FOR SOME REASON THE CDU DROPPED SCABI AND PNH OUT OF THE LEGS PAGE. FO CHKED THE FLT PLAN AND PLUGGED PNH IN BETWEEN FERRA AND ALS AND EXECUTED. THE CAPT WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS. AFTER PASSING FERRA THE ACFT CONTINUED DIRECT TO PNH INSTEAD OF THE CLRED RTE TO SCABI THEN PNH. WHILE FO WAS IN THE BATHROOM CTR CALLED AND ASKED IF WE WERE ON A HEADING. I ANSWERED THAT WE WERE DIRECT TO PNH AS I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE CORRECT ROUTING. CTR GAVE US A HEADING THEN DIRECT TO SCABI TO PNH AS FILED. MISCOM AND FAILURE TO CHK ROUTING AFTER FERRA CONTRIBUTED TO THIS ERROR.
