Narrative:

During pilot walkaround; noticed left forward emergency overwing exit door was not flush with aircraft fuselage skin. Company line mechanics found lower hook and pivot brackets not engaged at bottom of emergency exit door. This is an rii item when installed. Found no recent history pertaining to door. Company mechanics at ZZZ reinstalled emergency exit door correctly and so noted inspection of maintenance item.
