Narrative:
After takeoff we received notification via ACARS to 'stand by for revised weights.' final weights were received at xa:39; two minutes after takeoff. Load planning should not have relied on ACARS; but should have notified us via ATC. Supplemental information from acn 670940: during taxi out of las received final weight message prior to exiting the ramp. I noticed an ACARS message ECAM memo started to flash during the takeoff roll. After takeoff; captain opened ACARS message which said ramp is updating final weights; please stand by. This message was followed by a new final weights message. Load planning needs to know that 3 to 4 mins delay may be during takeoff.
