Narrative:

15-25 mins after takeoff; a strong electrical smell was in the main cabin. After checking overhead bins; no source was found (overhead lights were not on). Captain diverted to ZZZ1 for a landing which was aborted due to windshear. Upon the abort; the electrical odor became much more intense (passenger were covering their faces) and we landed in ZZZ2. Our mechanics removed black box. Aircraft removed from service.
