Narrative:

During climb; 'right engine oil press low' light illuminated out of 15000 ft. Oil pressure indicated zero. Oil quantity normal and temperature decreasing. Executed appropriate abnormal checklist; captain elected to return to ZZZ with idle power on right engine. On arrival; noted engine vibrations and right engine failed to respond to throttle movement. Executed appropriate emergency checklists. Captain determined an emergency declaration was not necessary. Landed without incident. Supplemental information from acn 666172: the first officer advanced the power in the right engine. This action caused a vibration in the right engine. We made the decision to shut down the right engine. Callback conversation with acn 666172 revealed the following information: the reporter stated that when on the ground; maintenance examined the main oil screen and found metal in the screen. The engine; a JT8D-219; was replaced. No emergency was declared during this incident.
