Narrative:

A balancing entry for PIREP (aural warning of overspd) did not include the required overspd check. At the time of the event; I was unaware of the requirement and did not accomplish the check. Also; a missing aileron trim indicator was replaced by an amt; however; I verified and signed the form for replacement of the indicator. Reviewed MD80 maintenance manual time limits specifically overspd condition checks. Reviewed gpm signature requirements for work performed. Unfamiliar with overspd check requirements of maintenance manual.

Narrative: A BALANCING ENTRY FOR PIREP (AURAL WARNING OF OVERSPD) DID NOT INCLUDE THE REQUIRED OVERSPD CHK. AT THE TIME OF THE EVENT; I WAS UNAWARE OF THE REQUIREMENT AND DID NOT ACCOMPLISH THE CHK.
