Narrative:
I had just combined sectors and I took a handoff on air carrier X; thinking that air carrier X had already been separated by previous controller when in fact due to the combining of sectors they were not aware of the aircraft. Air carrier Y was holding at fak and turned in to air carrier X.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AFTER COMBINING SECTORS; LOSS OF SEPARATION OCCURRED BTWN 2 ACR'S AT THE SAME ALT. A BREAKDOWN IN INTRAFAC COORD WAS THE MAIN CAUSE.
