Narrative:

I was called out to assist on aircraft X with a door slide problem. The discrepancy was that the slide pack had shifted in the case; and the pressure gauge was not fully visible. I am fully aware that opening or repacking a slide requires quality assurance inspection. I have seen this problem before; and opening the slide was not required. I simply pushed the bottom of the slide pack back aft where it belongs; without opening; unbuckling; or disturbing the slide pack. The gauge was then fully visible; and ok for service. I have done this before; and it was ok with quality assurance then. I felt this action was within the maintenance guidelines. I checked with my lead; and we agreed that this was not an rii item.

Narrative: I WAS CALLED OUT TO ASSIST ON ACFT X WITH A DOOR SLIDE PROB. I HAVE SEEN THIS PROB BEFORE; AND OPENING THE SLIDE WAS NOT REQUIRED. I SIMPLY PUSHED THE BOTTOM OF THE SLIDE PACK BACK AFT WHERE IT BELONGS; WITHOUT OPENING; UNBUCKLING; OR DISTURBING THE SLIDE PACK. THE GAUGE WAS THEN FULLY VISIBLE; AND OK FOR SVC.
