Narrative:

Aircraft departed bos for an far part 91 flight to mvy. The ATIS at mvy was reporting winds 010 degrees at 23 KTS gusting to 31 KTS; clear skies; 18 degrees; altimeter 30.01. Cape approach cleared the crew for the visual approach to runway 6 and we proceeded to configure the aircraft for said approach. The PF called for and I accomplished all checklist procedures. At approximately 5 mi from the airport on a 45 degree entry to the downwind; the crew selected flaps 12 degrees. As the kruger flaps deployed; the crew received an amber kruger unbalanced EICAS message and an amber kruger indicator. The crew relayed this information to the tower and requested and received permission to circle the airport at our altitude of 3000 ft so they could accomplish the checklist procedures. The crew was unsuccessful in clearing the fault so they increased their landing distance by the required 15% and compared this new number with the available runway at mvy. The crew determined they needed approximately 5100 ft and had 5500 ft available. The crew re-entered the pattern on a left downwind and proceeded with the approach. (The kruger unbalanced message went away when the flaps were selected to 40 degrees. This information was relayed to the tower prior turning final.) turning final to runway 6; the crew requested and received a wind report of 010 degrees at 26 KTS with no gusts. The crew reported approximately +15 KTS wind gusts on a 5 mi final and +/-10 KT wind gusts on a 1/2 mi final. This was reported to the tower after landing. During landing; the crew used a crosswind technique to counter wind drift. Unfortunately; the pitch attitude increased just prior to touchdown due to a wind gust causing a loss of ground clearance with the left wingtip. The wing consequently contacted the ground (a small 2 inch by 1 inch section and static wick were affected). Neither the crew nor the passenger were aware that anything had happened until informed by a line service man that the tower suspected we had scraped the left wing. The aircraft was written up and is in maintenance.

DURING LNDG; THE CREW USED A XWIND TECHNIQUE TO COUNTER WIND DRIFT. UNFORTUNATELY; THE PITCH ATTITUDE INCREASED JUST PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN DUE TO A WIND GUST CAUSING A LOSS OF GND CLRNC WITH THE L WINGTIP. THE WING CONSEQUENTLY CONTACTED THE GND (A SMALL 2 INCH BY 1 INCH SECTION AND STATIC WICK WERE AFFECTED). NEITHER THE CREW NOR THE PAX WERE AWARE THAT ANYTHING HAD HAPPENED UNTIL INFORMED BY A LINE SVC MAN THAT THE TWR SUSPECTED WE HAD SCRAPED THE L WING. THE ACFT WAS WRITTEN UP AND IS IN MAINT.
