Narrative:
Signed for another mechanic's work. Other mechanic changed oil filter. While it was in area; we ran engine to leak check which produced no leaks. I signed for work in log. Later; engine shutdown in-flight due to loss of oil in #1 engine. Reaffirm my responsibility to only sign for work I actually perform. First shift back on duty after vacation. Shift change is equal to long day (almost 24 hours up). Also; I have seen and worked with other mechanic and trusted his work.

Narrative: SIGNED FOR ANOTHER MECH'S WORK. OTHER MECH CHANGED OIL FILTER. WHILE IT WAS IN AREA; WE RAN ENG TO LEAK CHK WHICH PRODUCED NO LEAKS. I SIGNED FOR WORK IN LOG. LATER; ENG SHUTDOWN INFLT DUE TO LOSS OF OIL IN #1 ENG. REAFFIRM MY RESPONSIBILITY TO ONLY SIGN FOR WORK I ACTUALLY PERFORM. FIRST SHIFT BACK ON DUTY AFTER VACATION. SHIFT CHANGE IS EQUAL TO LONG DAY (ALMOST 24 HRS UP). ALSO; I HAVE SEEN AND WORKED WITH OTHER MECH AND TRUSTED HIS WORK.
