Narrative:

Aircraft could not produce takeoff power due to a limited thrust lever travel. I rigged the thrust lever per the maintenance manual. The aircraft departed with no other incidents. After consulting with other amt; it was determined that this rig was an rii item; and it was not done and documented at that time. My suggestion is to have all rii items flagged as such.

Title: A B747-100 RETURNED TO THE FIELD DUE TO UNABLE TO MAKE TKOF THRUST. ENG WAS THROTTLE LIMITED. THROTTLE RIGGED PER MAINT MANUAL. REQUIRED INSPECTION NOT ACCOMPLISHED.

Narrative: ACFT COULD NOT PRODUCE TKOF PWR DUE TO A LIMITED THRUST LEVER TRAVEL. I RIGGED THE THRUST LEVER PER THE MAINT MANUAL. THE ACFT DEPARTED WITH NO OTHER INCIDENTS. AFTER CONSULTING WITH OTHER AMT; IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THIS RIG WAS AN RII ITEM; AND IT WAS NOT DONE AND DOCUMENTED AT THAT TIME. MY SUGGESTION IS TO HAVE ALL RII ITEMS FLAGGED AS SUCH.
