Narrative:

Aircraft arrived #4 brake leaking. I was the only mechanic on duty. Discussed problem with technical services who said no additional signatures needed. I replaced brake by myself as no other mechanics were brought in. Confirmation check for tire changes recently removed from B757 paperwork requirements. B757 new to ZZZ; not familiar with rii required for brake rod installation. However; brake rod installed properly. Notified technical services to have item back-checked. Printed up gpm section 18-01 and reviewed rii items and requirements; so as to be more familiar with rii items. Improperly guided by technical services.
