Narrative:
On jan/thu/05; I was working gate X when aircraft X flight #X (in) and flight #Y (out) reported a fuel leak by the flight crew just prior to departure. 3 of us in maintenance; a supervisor; lead mechanic; and I began the troubleshooting process to isolate the fuel leak. After receiving the fuel leak limits from my supervisor; the lead and I determined the leak rate after 10 mins per maintenance manual 28-11-00 pages 611; 612; and 613; procedure 4B. Repair key item #B. This information was stated in the text of the write-up during the signoff as well as required re-inspection dates; to include current hours. I was notified on mar/wed/05 at XA45 of a discrepancy made while creating and signing off of work order X. Conclusion and corrective action: from the information I have received regarding this matter on mar/tue/05 by my immediate supervisor; an oversight of an entry; an error was made in the 'check limit' area. The entry made was missed for an inspection for a 2 week period. On jan/tue/05 a directive was given to have the inspection completed. A simple entry error was made; then not detected by the maintenance controller or the flight line personnel down line for a period of time and eventually corrected. On mar/tue/05 the leaking fuel valve was replaced.
