Narrative:

I was assisting 2 other mechanics doing the wheelchair aircraft change order and helped secure the upper attach point on the new stowage unit. In order to accomplish the adjusting and securing of the upper attach rod; the fdr was removed momentarily. After completing the installation of the rod; the fdr was re-seated in the rack but not secured. It was the end of our shift and I was told that someone else would finish the job. I was rushing to clean up and punch out on time and completely forgot to document the right&right of the fdr. Whomever finished the job failed to notice that the fdr wasn't secured and the aircraft flew to ZZZ and back before it was secured. I knew that I was supposed to document the moving of the fdr but lost my train of thought during the confusion of the shift change/turnover process.
