Narrative:

While en route, we began experiencing severe turbulence resulting in the pilot feeling nauseous. Air sickness has been a chronic problem. Control of the plane became difficult. The winds were predominately from the north and the local airports all had east/west heading runways. The passenger who was the pilot's girlfriend and not capable of flying the plane became very nervous due to the turbulence. The decision was made by the pilot to land. At ZZZ military field as soon as possible with their northerly runways. Radio contact was not attempted because the pilot was too busy/sick to locate it. Radar advisory was terminated with potomac approach by the pilot. The field appeared empty. Upon landing, we taxied onto a deserted x-rwy and shut down. It was many mins before a civilian employee drove out in his truck to investigate. He helped secure the plane and drove us back to an office trailer to settle down. He then contacted the appropriate people by phone to make them aware of our situation. Medical help was offered but refused by the pilot. We decided to leave the plane there and continued our trip by rental car. We gave our names, addresses and phone numbers. About 1 hour later, someone called and asked for further information: social security number, date of birth, and verified the previous information we had given. I feel that this was a true emergency and the decision to land was the correct one.

Title: LOW TIME C150 BECOMES AIR SICK IN TURB AND LANDS AT A MIL FIELD WITHOUT MAKING RADIO CONTACT.

Narrative: WHILE ENRTE, WE BEGAN EXPERIENCING SEVERE TURB RESULTING IN THE PLT FEELING NAUSEOUS. AIR SICKNESS HAS BEEN A CHRONIC PROB. CTL OF THE PLANE BECAME DIFFICULT. THE WINDS WERE PREDOMINATELY FROM THE N AND THE LCL ARPTS ALL HAD E/W HDG RWYS. THE PAX WHO WAS THE PLT'S GIRLFRIEND AND NOT CAPABLE OF FLYING THE PLANE BECAME VERY NERVOUS DUE TO THE TURB. THE DECISION WAS MADE BY THE PLT TO LAND. AT ZZZ MIL FIELD ASAP WITH THEIR NORTHERLY RWYS. RADIO CONTACT WAS NOT ATTEMPTED BECAUSE THE PLT WAS TOO BUSY/SICK TO LOCATE IT. RADAR ADVISORY WAS TERMINATED WITH POTOMAC APCH BY THE PLT. THE FIELD APPEARED EMPTY. UPON LNDG, WE TAXIED ONTO A DESERTED X-RWY AND SHUT DOWN. IT WAS MANY MINS BEFORE A CIVILIAN EMPLOYEE DROVE OUT IN HIS TRUCK TO INVESTIGATE. HE HELPED SECURE THE PLANE AND DROVE US BACK TO AN OFFICE TRAILER TO SETTLE DOWN. WE DECIDED TO LEAVE THE PLANE THERE AND CONTINUED OUR TRIP BY RENTAL CAR. WE GAVE OUR NAMES, ADDRESSES AND PHONE NUMBERS. ABOUT 1 HR LATER, SOMEONE CALLED AND ASKED FOR FURTHER INFO: SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, DATE OF BIRTH, AND VERIFIED THE PREVIOUS INFO WE HAD GIVEN. I FEEL THAT THIS WAS A TRUE EMER AND THE DECISION TO LAND WAS THE CORRECT ONE.
