Narrative:

We were being vectored downwind for left traffic runway 10R abeam boi airport descending to 7000 ft. Just prior to leveloff in IMC, terrain warning activated. First officer was flying and initiated recovery maneuver and warning ceased. We notified ATC and returned to 7000 ft without any further warnings. The next morning I spoke with a controller in the tower and was informed that they were having problems with this and that they were keeping a log of such occurrences. She told me that some of the controllers were not using 7000 ft, the MVA in this area, because of this problem. We experienced no further problems, but I thought you might want to look into this situation.
