Narrative:

After calling set power, we accelerated rather rapidly with such a light takeoff weight. At 80 KTS the callout 'power set,' and 'your aircraft' was almost simultaneous. It was at that point I noted the right engine torque gauge indicating only 80% and called for an abort. By that time the aircraft had already accelerated to approximately 90 KTS. Since the runway was 10000 ft long and dry, we did not use heavy braking, but rather used reverse and allowed the aircraft to decelerate. Our V1 speed for our weight was 113 KTS. So we were well under that. We taxied back to the gate with no further incident. Supplemental information from acn 639438: called power set 80 KTS being hesitant on the set power, but all other indications were normal. Captain took controls as PF. We aborted above 80 KTS and according to AOM1 it was a high speed abort.

Title: HIGH SPD ABORT OVER 80 KTS BY AN SF34 FLT CREW WHEN THEIR R ENG TORQUE FAILS TO MEET REQUIRED TKOF SETTING AT DFW.

Narrative: AFTER CALLING SET PWR, WE ACCELERATED RATHER RAPIDLY WITH SUCH A LIGHT TKOF WT. AT 80 KTS THE CALLOUT 'PWR SET,' AND 'YOUR ACFT' WAS ALMOST SIMULTANEOUS. IT WAS AT THAT POINT I NOTED THE R ENG TORQUE GAUGE INDICATING ONLY 80% AND CALLED FOR AN ABORT. BY THAT TIME THE ACFT HAD ALREADY ACCELERATED TO APPROX 90 KTS. SINCE THE RWY WAS 10000 FT LONG AND DRY, WE DID NOT USE HVY BRAKING, BUT RATHER USED REVERSE AND ALLOWED THE ACFT TO DECELERATE. OUR V1 SPD FOR OUR WT WAS 113 KTS. SO WE WERE WELL UNDER THAT. WE TAXIED BACK TO THE GATE WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 639438: CALLED PWR SET 80 KTS BEING HESITANT ON THE SET PWR, BUT ALL OTHER INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL. CAPT TOOK CTLS AS PF. WE ABORTED ABOVE 80 KTS AND ACCORDING TO AOM1 IT WAS A HIGH SPD ABORT.
