Narrative:

At cruise, got call from flight attendants of acrid smell in cabin sulphur and electric. The smell first went away then came back and we smelled it in the cockpit. Ran the electrical smoke/fumes or fire checklist, diverted and declared an emergency. The smell dissipated some, but never went away. Taxied into gate and expedited normal deplaning without bags. Firefighters came onboard and also smelled problem and said it came from rear half of plane, but no sign of fire or damage.
