Narrative:
I deferred a l-hand air conditioning pack inoperative and did not instruct the mechanic to perform the MEL procedure for the deferral. This was an oversight on my part. I assumed he did it on his own.

Title: AN MD80 WAS DISPATCHED WITH THE L AIR CONDITIONING PACK DEFERRED AS INOP PER THE MEL, BUT REQUIRED SPECIAL PROCS NOT PERFORMED.
Narrative: I DEFERRED A L-HAND AIR CONDITIONING PACK INOP AND DID NOT INSTRUCT THE MECH TO PERFORM THE MEL PROC FOR THE DEFERRAL. THIS WAS AN OVERSIGHT ON MY PART. I ASSUMED HE DID IT ON HIS OWN.
