Narrative:

Flight planned for cruise at FL240 because of turbulence at FL310. Entered a cloud deck at FL240 after passing tatoosh VOR. Engine anti-ice was on prior to entering the clouds and the WX radar was on but we were not painting any precipitation. Noticed ice build up on the wings, put wing anti-ice on until wings were clean. A short time later, checked wings again and saw ice starting to build up. Put wing anti-ice on and saw ice building up around the left/right-1 windows. Requested a climb to FL310 to get out of the ice conditions. The climb was started approximately 100 NM prior to the pryce fix on the flight plan. There was not any abnormal engine indications. Passing through FL280, we were out of the icing conditions. We told ATC about the ice conditions. We forgot to pass this information on to dispatch, but it was passed on to ATC. After arrival at anchorage airport, I was told that both of our engines had received FOD. Throughout our flight, we always had normal engine indications. There was not any abnormal engine indications. The first officer and I did not hear any loud noises or bangs. The flight attendants did not report any loud noises or bangs throughout the flight.
