Narrative:
Taxied off runway 33L onto taxiway Q, instructed to taxi to taxiway a to gate. Taxied on taxiway Q to taxiway a, lost sight of the yellow taxi line from taxiway Q to taxiway a, looked to my right for our gate. Saw our gate, made a right turn on taxiway a looked to acquire the yellow taxi line, saw what I thought was the yellow line, realized what I thought was the yellow taxi line was the yellow border line for the blue taxi lights, made an immediate sharp left turn. In the left turn heard a thump on the right side. Taxied to the gate, went out and inspected the right main gear and right engine, saw nothing. As we taxied out the next afternoon, I looked for the taxi yellow line from taxiway Q to taxiway a. There is not a yellow line that goes straight from taxiway Q to taxiway a. That is why I lost sight of the yellow line. It was not there.
