#2 engine temperature went to about 1200 degrees. Referenced engine limit/surge/stall checklist. Ran engine at reduced power for the remainder of the flight. Normal landing. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter said when maintenance noted the temperature logged in the book the airplane was taken OTS for an engine change.
