Narrative:

On oct/sun/04 I was assigned to work flight XXX. There was a PIREP for a rub strip missing from right engine. Inspected engine, found that this would not affect the airworthiness of aircraft. Conferred with maintenance controller and deferred item per B757 cdl 78-6. Cdl is not applicable to these engines. On oct/tue/04 I was assigned to repair this item. Found item deferred under wrong reference. Cleared cdl and deferred item properly.
