Narrative:

Air carrier X aircraft landed amber alert due to leading edge would not extend. I assisted in troubleshooting and found left torque tube just outboard of left leading edge power drive unit was not connected. Checked area for hardware when access panels were removed. None found. Maintenance had replaced #4 slat sep/mon/04. Aircraft went to hangar at ZZZ and returned to service by mechanics. I am filing this report to document problem only.

Title: A B757-200 ON APCH WAS UNABLE TO EXTEND THE LEADING EDGE SLATS. ON GND FOUND SLAT DRIVE TORQUE TUBE NOT CONNECTED TO PWR DRIVE UNIT.

Narrative: ACR X ACFT LANDED AMBER ALERT DUE TO LEADING EDGE WOULD NOT EXTEND. I ASSISTED IN TROUBLESHOOTING AND FOUND L TORQUE TUBE JUST OUTBOARD OF L LEADING EDGE PWR DRIVE UNIT WAS NOT CONNECTED. CHKED AREA FOR HARDWARE WHEN ACCESS PANELS WERE REMOVED. NONE FOUND. MAINT HAD REPLACED #4 SLAT SEP/MON/04. ACFT WENT TO HANGAR AT ZZZ AND RETURNED TO SVC BY MECHS. I AM FILING THIS RPT TO DOCUMENT PROB ONLY.
