Narrative:

On taxi out of ZZZ1 we had a flight/control slat system #2 fault ECAM. We sent an ACARS report to maintenance and called maintenance on a cell phone. They had us pull and reset 2 circuit breakers which resolved the ECAM. We took off and flew uneventfully to the ZZZ2 area. On initial approach into ZZZ2 upon moving the flap handle to position #1, we got a flight/control slats locked ECAM. We accomplished the ECAM procedure and associated checklists. We declared an emergency with approach and gave a cabin advisory to the flight attendants. We followed the abnormal slats profile in the flight manual and I as the PF made an otherwise normal visual approach and to runway. Upon landing we canceled the emergency and taxied to the gate.
