Narrative:

As I entered the pattern for landing at kls runway 30 (on runway 45 for left downwind runway 30) I took note that there were 4 other airplanes either in the pattern or coming in from the north to enter the pattern. I was able to identify the 3 airplanes in the pattern ahead of me and verified via radio that the 4TH airplane was still a couple of mi north. All the airplanes ahead of me landed without incident. As I turned base there were 2 airplanes on the runway, a single engine plane landing and getting ready to turn onto the taxiway and a twin engine ready for takeoff. Because of this congestion I was watching this closely in case I had to do a go around. The single engine plane turned on taxiway with announcement on radio (CTAF). The twin took off and I turned final about the same time. When I was down to about 300 ft MSL I saw another single engine plane at a faster speed landing underneath me. I immediately turned to the right to get off his path and engaged go around procedures. I estimate that I was less than 100 ft directly above the other plane when it passed under me. As far as I could tell there were no radio xmissions from this plane. Also, because of my awareness of the pattern I find it likely that he did a straight in from the south. Since there are hills on the right side of runway 30, as soon as I had positive rate of climb I turned across the runway and headed due west until I could reenter the pattern and complete my touch and go landing. Just as I was avoiding the other plane I heard someone broadcasting that 2 planes were trying to land at the same time. Once climbing I announced the aborted landing as I was heading west.

Title: C150 IN BUSY UNCTLED TFC PATTERN AT KLS EXPERIENCES NMAC WITH ANOTHER ACFT ON FINAL FOR RWY 30 WHO APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN PERFORMING A STRAIGHT IN APCH AND FAILED TO UTILIZE THE CTAF FOR ADVISORIES.

Narrative: AS I ENTERED THE PATTERN FOR LNDG AT KLS RWY 30 (ON RWY 45 FOR L DOWNWIND RWY 30) I TOOK NOTE THAT THERE WERE 4 OTHER AIRPLANES EITHER IN THE PATTERN OR COMING IN FROM THE N TO ENTER THE PATTERN. I WAS ABLE TO IDENT THE 3 AIRPLANES IN THE PATTERN AHEAD OF ME AND VERIFIED VIA RADIO THAT THE 4TH AIRPLANE WAS STILL A COUPLE OF MI N. ALL THE AIRPLANES AHEAD OF ME LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. AS I TURNED BASE THERE WERE 2 AIRPLANES ON THE RWY, A SINGLE ENG PLANE LNDG AND GETTING READY TO TURN ONTO THE TXWY AND A TWIN ENG READY FOR TKOF. BECAUSE OF THIS CONGESTION I WAS WATCHING THIS CLOSELY IN CASE I HAD TO DO A GAR. THE SINGLE ENG PLANE TURNED ON TXWY WITH ANNOUNCEMENT ON RADIO (CTAF). THE TWIN TOOK OFF AND I TURNED FINAL ABOUT THE SAME TIME. WHEN I WAS DOWN TO ABOUT 300 FT MSL I SAW ANOTHER SINGLE ENG PLANE AT A FASTER SPD LNDG UNDERNEATH ME. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED TO THE R TO GET OFF HIS PATH AND ENGAGED GAR PROCS. I ESTIMATE THAT I WAS LESS THAN 100 FT DIRECTLY ABOVE THE OTHER PLANE WHEN IT PASSED UNDER ME. AS FAR AS I COULD TELL THERE WERE NO RADIO XMISSIONS FROM THIS PLANE. ALSO, BECAUSE OF MY AWARENESS OF THE PATTERN I FIND IT LIKELY THAT HE DID A STRAIGHT IN FROM THE S. SINCE THERE ARE HILLS ON THE R SIDE OF RWY 30, AS SOON AS I HAD POSITIVE RATE OF CLB I TURNED ACROSS THE RWY AND HEADED DUE W UNTIL I COULD REENTER THE PATTERN AND COMPLETE MY TOUCH AND GO LNDG. JUST AS I WAS AVOIDING THE OTHER PLANE I HEARD SOMEONE BROADCASTING THAT 2 PLANES WERE TRYING TO LAND AT THE SAME TIME. ONCE CLBING I ANNOUNCED THE ABORTED LNDG AS I WAS HDG W.
