Narrative:

It was a VFR day. A fellow pilot and myself planned on going to fowlerville. We had to cross pontiac, mi (ptk) airport en route. The controller told us that fowlerville airport was very busy, already. 23 planes were in the landing pattern, with 5 more circling. While listening to the fowlerville frequency, there was continuous heterodyne squealing, voices, etc. I entered a long final behind a bi-plane. I heard planes in front of me announcing when they were over the power lines, so I did the same. I called my short final, added all my flaps and slowed to my landing speed. Just short of getting into my flare for landing, a plane appeared off my right wing, very close, at the same altitude. The plane shot ahead of me, and did a hard left turn, right in front of me. At this point, my aircraft encountered his slipstream and became difficult to control. I could not add power, as the other aircraft was directly in front of me, about 25-30 ft. Finally, he dipped below me. I added power and regained solid control of the aircraft. The other aircraft did land, but I could not find him once I landed.

AT THIS POINT, MY ACFT ENCOUNTERED HIS SLIPSTREAM AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO CTL. I COULD NOT ADD PWR, AS THE OTHER ACFT WAS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME, ABOUT 25-30 FT. FINALLY, HE DIPPED BELOW ME. I ADDED PWR AND REGAINED SOLID CTL OF THE ACFT. THE OTHER ACFT DID LAND, BUT I COULD NOT FIND HIM ONCE I LANDED.
