Hazy day, IFR flight plan, center turned me over to tower for visual approach, cleared to land at ZZZ1. ZZZ2 was closer and in view. Turned toward ZZZ2. Tower suggested return to center for resequencing. Returned to center frequency, requested vectors to localizer approach. Successfully shot localizer approach.
