Narrative:
While cruising at FL270 and more than 20 NM from jeane intersection, ATC gave us an instruction to cross jeane at FL240. Since we had plenty of time, I just dialed in the new altitude in the pre-altitude selector on the autoplt panel and decided to wait with the start of the descent. My first officer and I were having a conversation and totally forgot about the previous instruction.
