Narrative:

During descent into las on the kepec 1 arrival, we were initially cleared to FL250. Passing FL260, we were cleared to FL240. Descending through FL250, ZLA said to maintain FL250. We acknowledged FL250, then tried to call several times to advise them we had already descended below FL250. We had been descending at 3000 FPM and, by the time we were able to reverse the descent, we had descended to FL243. Later, las approach control advised us to call the ZLA supervisor. The supervisor said the controller had tried to contact us twice, prior to our acknowledgement, to maintain FL250. We did not hear those xmissions. There were no traffic conflicts.
