Narrative:
I was taxiing for departure at quincy, il, following a quick turn for fuel. Being a little unfamiliar with the airport, I taxied the wrong way for departure. I ended up taxiing onto the runway that another aircraft was departing on. The departure end was on the other side of a hill. The departing aircraft was not visible until it was airborne. It took off at least 2000 ft before my position as I crossed on a taxiway. It was well above me as it passed overhead while I turned around to exit the runway. The other aircraft probably never saw me.
