Narrative:

ZZZ1 maintenance called to get a placard for the fuel low level light. They verified the pumps (are) were operating. Upon review of chapter 28 fmr items (routine) I noticed the PIREP for the MEL I issued, indicated a bad or intermittent center boost pump. I issued the wrong MEL reference for the write-up. I did not get the full information from ZZZ1 maintenance.

Title: AN MD80 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH THE FUEL LOW LEVEL LIGHT DEFERRED AS INOP PER THE MEL. ITEM DEFERRED SHOULD HAVE BEEN CTR TANK BOOST PUMP.

Narrative: ZZZ1 MAINT CALLED TO GET A PLACARD FOR THE FUEL LOW LEVEL LIGHT. THEY VERIFIED THE PUMPS (ARE) WERE OPERATING. UPON REVIEW OF CHAPTER 28 FMR ITEMS (ROUTINE) I NOTICED THE PIREP FOR THE MEL I ISSUED, INDICATED A BAD OR INTERMITTENT CTR BOOST PUMP. I ISSUED THE WRONG MEL REF FOR THE WRITE-UP. I DID NOT GET THE FULL INFO FROM ZZZ1 MAINT.
