Narrative:

DH8C on localizer for runway 23 was given vector for spacing at 5000 ft. B733 on downwind (050 degrees) was descending to 5000 ft, DH8C turned back to localizer. Traffic called to DH8C and DH8C called traffic in sight at 3 mi. One final open when traffic built up dramatically. Took 5 mins to split finals due to volume. To prevent -- split finals sooner.

Narrative: DH8C ON LOC FOR RWY 23 WAS GIVEN VECTOR FOR SPACING AT 5000 FT. B733 ON DOWNWIND (050 DEGS) WAS DSNDING TO 5000 FT, DH8C TURNED BACK TO LOC.
