Narrative:

On climb out on flight abc from ZZZ to ZZZ1, we had a low oil pressure light come on for #1 engine. We referred to communication procedure and also contacted the company, and relayed to them the problem. All engine indications were normal. We were instructed to continue to our destination. Once there, we were in touch with maintenance by phone and company decided to MEL it. We returned to ZZZ with no problems. I believe our mechanics were giving wrong information and we should have returned back to ZZZ. Company is saying I should have returned to ZZZ and not listened to maintenance control. Why is maintenance giving bad advice when the pilot is looking for good advice? The FAA will probably be involved, and want to know why I continued on to ZZZ1.
